Satyanarayana puja is a sacred ritual performed by Hindus. This is usually performed mostly before or after any major occasions like marriage ,House warming etc.

This Puja can be performed on any day for any reason. The best day to perform this Pooja is on the day of Poornima (full moon day). Satyanarayana Pooja can be performed after the achivement as an offering of gratitude to the Lord.

Speciality of this pooja is that It is perfomed by the offerers and the Pundit(priest) will be chanting the mantras and assisting the married couples to perform this pooja. The prasad for this vrita(Pooja) is known as Sapaad which is prepared thus: Take an equal measure of rava, Milk, Ghee, Banana, Sugar ( the measure should be 1 1/4 or multiples thereof ) cook it till all mix into a paste. It is considered so sacred to have this Prasad after the Pooja.
Pooja starts with lighting of the lamp and prayers to Lord Ganesha and offering prasad and showering flower patels.
