How to get more comments on your blog

I was wondering when I start getting a lot of comments on my article about twitter follow and unfollow tools, which was written few weeks back.I just had a research on this and tried to understand what trigger the readers to comment on this article.
This is my conclusion on how to get more  response from readers.

1. Get a good ranking on Google SERP

This is the important fact which I could make out from the experience. If you manage to get google readers to your article, you may be getting more comments and more interaction from those readers compared to the readers from social networking sites.

2. Motivate the readers for commenting

It is always good to offer something which your readers are interested in. In my case I provide free back links for a period of one month.

3. Trigger the readers

You can ask an open question at the end of the article, or write a controversial article which can trigger the readers to write a comment.

4. Write very useful Articles

Do a real good hard work and write a article which helped yourself in many ways. If an article looks helpful we will get very good response.

5. Interact

Do interact with the readers and answer to the questions and comments.This will motivate other readers to comments.

6. Design

Design is a very important factor, so make sure that your blog is user friendly and readers can put comments with very less effort. (I need to work on this )
