November 6th, 2009 by Giridhar | Posted under General.
hdfc online bankingAfter successful registration to Secure Access on HDFC net banking, you will not be asked questions every time you do a TPT transaction. However, if the transaction you are conducting is not as per your usual transaction pattern and a host of other variables, the system may ask you any two verification questions out of the five you have updated at the time of registration.

Please note that there is no human intervention involved here and the system will ask you questions based on a set of algorithms.
The following transactions are covered under this:
1. Fund Transfer to other HDFC Bank Accounts
2. Funds Transfer to other Banks through NEFT/RTGS
3. VISA Money Transfer
4. Third Party Demand Draft.
The system will randomly ask for Verification questions, in the following steps:
Step 1
1. Any two Verification questions out of the five questions you have selected at the time of Secure Access registration.
The answers to both the questions asked have to match with the answers given by you at the time of Secure Access registration.
> If you are able to answer the questions correctly, you can go ahead and do the Third Party transaction successfully.
Step 2
1. In case you fail to answer both or any of the questions correctly, the system, will again prompt you to write answers of any of the two questions out of the 5 questions, selected at the time of registration.
The answers to both the questions asked have to match with the answers given by you at the time of Secure Access registration.
> If you are able to answer the questions correctly, you can go ahead and do the Third Party transaction successfully.
Step 3
1. If you are unable to answer the verification questions in the above mentioned 2 Steps, the system will show your contact numbers on the screen, which you had updated at the time of registration.
2. Please select the contact number on which you wish to receive the call from our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and click on the button “call me”.
3. You will soon receive a call, please answer the call.
4. A recorded voice will ask you to enter the code that is displayed on your computer screen, please enter that code on your Mobile phone.
5. If the code is entered correctly, the system will be able to authenticate you and you can go ahead and do the transaction.
6. In the process of verification, if you fail to authenticate yourself in all the 3 Steps, i.e if you enter an incorrect code on your Phone after receiving the call from our Interactive Voice Response, your Third Party Transfer facility will be deactivated, due to security reasons.
7. You will be able to view NetBanking, however, will be unable to make any Third Party Transfer.
8. For activation of the Third Party Transfer facility, you will need to call PhoneBanking or submit a written application at the branch.
