8 reasons Why Firefox is Better than IE or any other browsers – firefox features review

browsersBrowser war is ON for a long time and it still continues at its peak. Following are my observations on firefox success,

Speed
Firefox is one of the fastest browser to load and to browse. It is one of the key reason for its success.Most of the sites loads faster in firefox , Firefox loading time depends on what all plugins and extensions you have installed.

Open Source
The most sweet thing is it is Open source, that mean it is a community developed software and source code is open and if a bug opens up , it will be fixed with in minutes or days.Even though Open source has its own security challenges , it is always nice to work with an Open source software.

Free
As I mentioned earlier , It is Open Source and hence it is free. You don’t need to pay for this software . It is the main factor which make Firefox a success.

No Acive X / VB script support
Firefox is appreciated for its security , Unlike Internet explorer Firefox doesn’t support Active X or VB Script which are the most vulnerable.

Security Patches
Unlike Internet explorer firefox releases patches less frequently , this make the product stable.

Plugin support
Plugin and Extension support is an exciting feature which make Firefox my favorite. Firefox can be customized to any extent with these plugins and extensions. There are a large number of programmers community who work on this and comes up with great plugins which adds more value to Firefox.

Light Weight
There are portable firefox available which doesn’t requrie any installation. Also regular firefox is very light and it doesn’t eat up memeory as many other Browsers does.

Tabbed browsing (IE was late to introduce)
Last but not least I love tabbed browsing , at a time on my computer ,I would be having at least 5 tabs. It is so convenient and help us to work on multiple websites without loosing focus.

    But wat ever it is and who ever writes bout browsers……….. nothing can beat Chrome from Google………. :)

    @Sandesh: I think you are not aware of Firefox’s market share in the Browser market! Chrome is nowhere in the picture…Firefox dominates more than 55% of the Browser market and Google chrome is just reaching 10% share..

    @Tech-Freak Stuff okay FF is having 55% and is popular as of now I do agree with you. But FF had taken over from IE and also FF is a decade old browser, and more over chrome has reached 10% in a very short time. Just imagine how much would the share of chrome be in 2 to 3 years time…. :)
