How to speed up MAC book and Macintosh Computer

mac logoIt is a very common problem among Mac users that system is getting slow most often. The ultimate option is to upgrade RAM but as we all know it is more expense to upgrade memory. There are few other things which we can do on our Mac system to keep it faster. While reading this article please keep in mind that these tips would not be as effective as adding more memory or replacing your hard disk with a faster one.
Clean your startup items
If your system is stuffed with so many items on the startup ,it could definitely slow down your system , you can find what is there on your startup by visiting Apple menu –> system preferences –> Accounts –> login items

Update your software with latest versions
You may be running different applications , please make sure you are updating the patches regularly many of the older patches may have performance issues and it could be eating up your memory.

Clean up your Hard Disk
Never let your used space grow more than 75 % , Try to clear your harddisk once in a while. This is a great tip for improving your Mac book performance

Check the Cooling
If your Mac book is heating up abnormally , it would be the main reason for the performance degradation. Heated processer performes badly. You may have to check for options like extra cooling fan etc with your service provider.


Unclutter your desktop
Keep your desktop neat, trust me it helps to improve your system speed.

Dashboard- do you need it ?
Mac OS X Dashboard is excellent but for a regular user, is it used regularly ? If you are not using the dashboard , disable it.

Wireless, Bluetooth, Printers, Internet sharing, Speech recognition are excellent features , but if you are not using any of those , disable it. It will also help you to improve your battery life.

    I find that the best way to speed up a computer is by defragmenting it.

    You can use the Windows Defrag Tool that can speed up your computer by miles, I recently ran it on my five year old Windows XP Machine and now it flys!

    Saves you money as you don’t have to buy a new computer.
