Install Android 2.2 (FroYo) on rooted Nexus One – Howto Guide

Android 2.2 is the latest release from Google with so many updates and security fixes. If you have a rooted Nexus one , follow the steps to upgrade it to the latest version of OS – Android 2.0 AKA FroYo.

1. Download froyo to your PC

2. Rename the zip file to update.zip

3. Connect your Nexus one  to your computer

4. Copy the renamed ‘update.zip’ file to the root folder of Nexus One SD Card

5. Turn off the Nexus one Phone

6. Turn on the Phone by pressing trackball and power button – it will take you to bootloader mode

7. Follow the instructions and select ‘recovery’

8.  Scroll down and select Flash zip form SD card and open it using trackball

9. Select update.zip and it will start the installation.

10 Wait for installation to complete and restart the phone again
