History of Modems – Types of Modems for connecting to internet

Modem is the device which helps us to connect to internet on our computers. Modems are connected via phone lines or broad band links. modem Modem is MOdulator-DEModulator which enables a computer to transmit data that arrives via a physical cable line which can be a phone line or broadband link. A MODEM converts analog to digital and vise-versa.

The first modem was developed in 1950s , for American military service to exchange data through phone lines. The first commercial modem was developed by AT & T in 1962, It was too slow during the initial phase. It was just supporting 300 bits per second. Later on technology improved and speed of modems too.

Samsung is again launching its Android series of mobile phones. This time it is named as Galaxy S. Samsung Galaxy S is featured with 4 inch super AMOLED display and 1 Ghz application processor. Its 5 MP camera is amazing. It is a business phone with all social network connectivity pre installed. This phone also provides instant access to weather , news and stock. Initial reviews says that Samsung Galaxy is very responsive and its UI is fast and smooth. Release date and Price is yet to be published.

Currently successful testing phase has been completed in most of the Indian states. Etisalat cheers mobile will also participate in upcoming 3G auctions planned to be conducted on April 9.
